I don't want your refund points

@BACollin
Since you seem to know a lot about it could you explain something to me.

In the rating FAQ it says
"But after some games against established players the confidence interval will narrow, and the amount of points gained/lost after each game will decrease."

But in the next paragraph it says
"Another point to note is that, as time passes, the confidence interval will increase. This allows you to gain/lose points more rapidly to match any changes in your skill level over that time."

I don't understand that second paragraph. Why would your rating volatility begin to go UP again over time?

Hey @visitacionmouna there are only some free online plattforms in that one in lichess. Lichess is a plattform with free training and love on chess as you see chess.com is paid training and less love on chess. Cheaters are here because its one of the famous plattform and the world has changed you can't tell that there are cheaters and you should not tease lichess
Wow I supported you, about the only one doing so, with several long comments and I can't ask one by the way question?
@Linspiring That's because if you sit and don't play any games for a year, who knows how much your strength will have changed. So the longer you don't play, the less "certain" your rating is, and the greater the RD.

@ExploringWA Sure, but if we don't pair new players with 1500-ish players, who do we pair them with?

If you make everyone new start at a very low rating, that low rating will be the new 1500, and everyone's ratings will all be lower. Same if everyone starts from 2200?

Although maybe you could just have 1500? get randomly paired, first-come first-served or something.

Oh 'time passes' means inactive. Why didn't they say that doh!

The suggestion was other provisionals , I might be crazy but that's actually how I think it used to be done.

I feel the same disappointment with respect to the puzzle ratings. I've measured my skills on a concurrent site to become more at ease here.

Thank you @BACollin , I am a mathematician and I'll read through this when I have the time.

Grateful to Lichess that there is a quote button finally, so that nobody can erase his/her own words and make false accusations. You still lack a time stamp.

Grateful to the Lichess mod who erased my comment after I revealed my password in public sight. This was done out of frustration for some derogatory comments here. I rarely participate in the forums because of this.

@ExploringWA Excellent comment!
