OTB game against person with Tourette Syndrome

"After all we live in an age of political correctness and anything you say or do would make you unpopular with the leftists who now control our society."

LOL
Playing against the guy is unlikely put you at a disadvantage. I have mild Tourette's (not coprolalia, mostly just facial / neck tics), and I can assure you it's more of a nuisance to the person with the tics than to others. That being said, however, I don't play in tournaments partially because of it (and also because I just suck at OTB chess lol).

Just a basic tic - sniffing, mainly (caused by some mental stuff probably, anxiety maybe, no idea, going to neurologist soon).

During the OTB game, if it's active, it would be like 50% of the time thinking "fuck the tic, it's irritating and I'm irritating to others too ... fuck this shit etc.".
If I had opponent like mentioned by OP, I would be like "doesn't matter, let's play a great game, cheers"
It's easy to say "doesn't matter, let's play.." and so on, but the truth is that some players get distracted more than others and may suffer more. I remember a tournament where there was a player with some kind of an involuntary hand movemet/tic or whatever - but a fairly "massive" one. I played one game seated next to him and it was an unpleasant experience - got hit few times on my arm and agreed to a very fast draw... Noone complained I am a bit afraid that everyone was afraid to complain...
Unwanted touches/hits surely aren't okay and it would be normal to complain and/or ask for some solution (pause and reseating or smth).
