US Amateur Team East Recap

We did USATN this year, it was my second OTB and it was fun. FYI I scored 1/5 and I was rated 802 uscf. But had promising positions against 1700 and 1900. But I messed up big time. I felt so bad I stopped playing chess for the next one week. Had I scored those two wins we as a team could have finished in the top ten. And I saw a GM play live for the first time and was so fortunate to see the UChicago team analyze their games on a table adjacent to me in the ballroom. I would cherish this tournament for life. Thanks USATN. And btw USATN -2024 had a record turnover this time, the organisers said, it was around 150+ teams. As you mentioned it was house full and to put it in someone from UChicago's words "it felt like 3 million people walking in a 3 acre land".
I did US Amateur East as well this year. I am around 1000 USCF, and I was playing top board, where It was much too difficult. The people I played with were around 1800. It was quite a difficult tournament, and I managed to win a single game. I feel like I played around 2.5-3-hour games, which was alright. How were others' experiences? Have a good day.
USATN Here,
Went up 18 points with 4/5 (3w 2d), my first time doing Usat type tournaments but I felt as I had more than enough time to socialize, this could be because I play fast or whatnot but it was done very well.
I played the usatw and I was 2065 at that time. pretty sloppy tournement where I lost to a 1600, an 1800, and drew a 1800. in the last round, I managed to beat a CM who is 2215 but lost 20 points

Another unusual feature of this tournament is that everyone is all in one big section, which usually isn't the case.
