lichess slow (or not) loading on latest Chrome/Chromium version (?)

<Comment deleted by user>
I have similar problems in that it takes a long time to load Lichess on Brave and on Safari it doesn't have this kind of problem. Any recommendations?

if you insist on using this particular browser emptying the cache or a full browser reset could help. Other than that it may be on lichess' behalf. Greetings <3
Hi all,
I originally made this forum thread to report that lichess is behaving very strangely in the Chrome browser recently. Since then, I once had the impression that the issue somehow disappeared, but after several weeks I find that it still persists. Others have also found it: lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/lichess-is-being-very-slow-now-do-you-experience-it-as-well. (as one example I have found)

As I am not aware of any further investigation or Github issue concerned with this yet, I would like to address this issue again.
As already described by others, the issue continues to look like this: At random time intervals, a page takes extremely long (up to 20-30 sec) to load. While loading, the browser window simply shows a black screen (so it is not about specific parts of the site that are lagging, it simply doesn't load anything). I found this issue when loading the homepage, profile pages, analysis boards and the TV. Sometimes, game pages are also affected, but that is more rare in my experience.

I have narrowed it down to it being some problem with lichess and browsers that are built with the Chrome engine (it occurs on Chrome, Chromium and Brave; another user also reported Opera to be affected). Firefox works perfectly fine. I can pretty much rule out anything local at my end to be the issue. I have tried multiple browsers (as I indicated above) and OS (Win 10,11 & Linux on different devices as well); including fresh browser installs, cleaning all data etc etc. When I use Chrome-based browsers, it is the same issue across the board. Other websites beside lichess are never affected.

I would kindly ask you, dear devs, to investigate this. It seems that more and more other players have also stumbled upon these issues and it is sadly very annoying when browsing lichess.

If there are any questions or need for clarification, I am happy to help as best as I can!
Thank you and best regards!
