Lost plenty of rating points though from three games where upon client reconnect, the client would send up the game timer count after having received the "Networking Error", which of course is not accurate as it should be the timer state that existed before the loss of connection.
You probably know this already... but you have web sockets that do about 2kbps constantly, running on every page I view. It looks like information about total number of current players online and a few other bits of info. 2kbps , about 3 tiny little PSH packets / sec just from my computer. Multiply by 3300 people. That might not be so healthy just right there.

I was personally wondering whether they were DoS attacks, but I don't know why we would be DoS'd.
I don't think the 2kbps over 3300 people really would do it, as 4000 people have played on this site without downtime before.
yeah from what i have spoken to other players, and the irc # it was ddos attack... skumbag
