Use the lawnmower technique with 2 rooks (or a rook and queen). Apparently, the dragon hates chess and specifically that series of moves that cuts it down to a more manageable size. Just make sure to trade off all the other pieces to frustrate the dragon even more. /s

Use the Yugoslav Attack

Shoot the crystals on the Obsidian towers (the black towers). Some of them are in cages (in the later versions), but you should still be able to shoot through them.
After that you just have to wait for the dragon to land and then get as much damage as possible in. Note: In the older versions the dragon won't land.
