saving your repertorie can be done in a study but you cant use study as a database for opening explorer what you can do is set it to your games and use that as a repertoire but sure i will make a github issue asking for a use study option for the database

lichess does not plan on adding any more rating as it already has way to many
as for opening rooms. Lichess already has that.
Just create a tournament from the position of your opening and then let people play maybe give the link to your friends.

why do you say studes are "quite limited"
