Banned

I have been temporarily banned because of aborted games. This is frustrating for two reasons, firstly the games I abort I do so because the player never makes a move. The second reason is that for some reason over the last few days, my computer shuts down from an error whenever I seem to be winning a match. Very strange stuff. Is there anyway to correct this problem?
For games which you abort because your opponent has not moved - wait 15 seconds or more before aborting, otherwise the system will count that aborted game against you.
Maybe the abort button should be grayed out for the first 15 seconds? That would make it easier to do the right thing
"my computer shuts down from an error whenever I seem to be winning a match. "

Probably just paranoia and selection bias.
Unless someone's gone to the effort of infecting your computer with an incredibly elaborate and well-designed virus... it's pretty safe to say that your computer is not shutting down because you're winning a chess game.
Strange.......Well, even I abort games sometimes but only after 15-30 seconds.
What #2 said. You won't be barred from creating games if you wait 15 sec before aborting.
If you see the symbol that the other player has left immediately do you still need to wait 15 seconds before aborting?
One thing I just noticed as a result of reading this thread is that every game - even aborted ones - are stored in your game history. I like this feature.
#3 I absolutely agree. I didn't even KNOW that I may get banned for that. :O
There should be window like "Are you sure that you want to abort the game? If you abort too many games you may be temporarily banned" "Yes" "No".
